Rebecca Dufendach is a Historian of Colonial Latin America. She hosts the podcast New Work in Ethnohistory that features interviews with the authors of recent scholarship in the field.

As an Assistant Professor in the Department of History at King’s College, her research focuses on Nahua and Spanish concepts of illness in sixteenth-century New Spain.

Professor Dufendach’s work contributes to the research of ethnohistorians who seek to recover Indigenous perspectives of historical events by reading different types of sources, including pictorial writing systems and Indigenous-language alphabetic texts.
